Our firm staff consists of 2 architects, interior designers, drafts people, construction field supervisors and support personnel. We are 100% CADD capable with supporting project tracking and design software.

All work produced by MPM Studio, L.L.C., is supervised by Joseph Matis, Partner in charge of Architecture. Mr. Matis holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and has been licensed to practice Architecture in the State of New Jersey since 1984, and in New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Michigan since 1989. MPM Studio, L.L.C, has worked with both firms previously notably on the Universal Design House and most recently the Resorts Tower Addition project, both in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Our firm, formerly known as Joseph J. Matis & Associates, P.C, has provided design services throughout the Atlantic City area, for almost 24 years. During that time the firm acted as facilities architect for Bally's Grand Hotel and Casino, performing numerous renovation and repair type projects as well as new construction for the Pacific Avenue Pedestrian Bridge and Skywalk. Among these projects were the High Rise Spalling and Waterproofing Project for the Atlantic City Housing Authority. These projects have enabled us to establish many professional relationships in Atlantic City and the surrounding area and become familiar with local planning board and building department requirements as well as State Agency procedures.

MPM Studio, L.L.C., utilizes a wide range of consultants to offer a multi-disciplined approach to provide an all inclusive design team for each individual project. Our past performance on a broad range of various projects places MPM Studio, L.L.C. and their consultants in a position to serve the needs of all prospective work with professional excellence.

Joseph J. Matis, NCARB, A.I.A.
Partner - Principal Architect

As a partner of MPM Studio, L.L.C., Mr. Matis provides a wide range of services to clients, their consultants and facilities departments throughout the architectural process from inception to beyond completion of the project. To achieve these objectives, Mr. Matis heads a design team of architects, interior designers, project managers, drafts people, and field inspectors. All of these personnel interact with outside consultants to provide a complete project, on time and within budget.

Mr. Matis's twenty-one years of experience includes design and managerial skills at Atlandia Design and Furnishings where he was project architect in command of various renovation projects in excess of $300 million dollars at the Atlantic City Golden Nugget Boardwalk Hotel and Casino, and the conceptual $600 million dollar Atlantic City Golden Nugget Marina Hotel and Casino.

Mr. Matis designed and managed the prestigious project of the Bally's Grand Pedestrian Bridge and Skywalk, in Atlantic City, N.J. He continued the firm with the Bally's Grand Amphitheatre for two executive seasons. Additionally, he oversaw various projects for the Atlantic City Housing Authority, and a 16,000 square foot research and development laboratory for the Federal Aviation Administration in Pomona, New Jersey.

He continues to design and manage numerous renovation and reconstruction projects in Atlantic City with Harrahs Hotel, Showboat Hotel and Casino, and projects associated with the Borgata.

Mr. Matis holds an Associate in Architectural Engineering Technology from Roger Williams College, Bristol, Rhode Island; and a Bachelor of Architecture from New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, New Jersey. He is NCARB Certified and his architectural registration includes: New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware, Georgia and Connecticut.


Roberta Peco-Matis, I.I.D.A.
Partner, Interior Designer

Roberta Peco-Matis, I.I.D.A., and partner of MPM Studio L.L.C, .is in charge of all interior projects from their inception to completion. She is responsible for meeting with the clients to identify the scope of the project, to determine their needs and to develop a program within the client's desired budget.

Supervising the staff and entire project, including layout drawings, color coordination, furniture and finishing selection, and installation of special equipment that can lead to greater efficiencies and satisfaction is a vital role to her position.

Compiling comprehensive schedules of furnishings, equipment and colors, specification books and coordinating color schemes for offices and entire projects are other aspects of her capabilities. She designs and presents Color and Finish boards for all projects. She strategies and supervises personnel in the development of the documents starting with the Schematic Phase through the Construction Documents Phase. She also reviews installation and assists the owner in specifications and purchasing of furnishings and equipment for the specified project.

Coordination of all disciplines, including architectural, mechanical, electrical and structural which is always integral to ensure a cohesive design is a necessary task that is part of her responsibility. Establishing schedules of production efforts, design reviews, presentation meetings and field inspections consists of some of her many responsibilities for all projects.
